Illa Experience Hotel

There are no words to describe the wonderful staff, the beautiful hotel surroundings, or the lovely accommodations that are all part of the Illa Experience. To a person, all the staff made sure to make our stay a memorable one. We sampled great wines with the help of sommmalier, Francisco. We attended special events in the lobby each night presented by the staff. We had one of the most amazing and memorable dinners with chef, Juan Carlos at the helm. One of us was ill and the staff did everything they could to help us including making special chicken soup and checking on us regularly. We had a very early flight to the Galapagos and came downstairs to find coffee, tea, and a sack lunch waiting for us. We hope this review encourages others to stay at the Illa Experience. They will not be disappointed. We think of and miss the staff to this day.

This hotel is a true gem. Beautifully renovated. Stylishly decorated. Impeccably clean. Everything we could ask for and more. But what makes this place a redo is the staff. Exceptional! The wonderful type of people you’d like to be friends with. They went out of their way to make our stay memorable and that’s what our stay here will always be…..unforgettable!

Impeccable service. At all hours the staff anticipated and deliver service far beyond the level of Four Seasons Hotels. We returned multiple times because we simply love the hospitality. The property is beautifully appointed. Uniquely boutique. The radiant heat flooring and mirrors demonstrates the meticulous level of detail. Daily evening activities drawing from local talents from artisanal ice cream making to painting were lovely as well.

The staff made us feel like family, they were ahead of our needs, they made sure to memorize our meal preferences, our preferences in culture and places to visit. When they helped us book a restaurant they were ahead and already transmitted our alergies and dietary restrictions. They also helped us book a city tour and mentioned to our guide my wifes passion for wood carving and the guide had already prepared a meeting at a local carving workshop. Our room was always spotless, the evening turnover was a joy with small details, local chocolate, but most important with personal touch. The heated compress with relaxing herbs placed on our pillow, the bathtub ready with relaxing salts, the hot canelazo (typical drink) ready when we walked in the door, they had called our tour guide to find out exactly what time we were returning after our city walk. Mishel, the lady at the front desk is a gem, she is perhaps one of the friendliest hotel staff we ever met. She was attentive and considerate, always asking us if we were doing well and if we felt welcome. She organized a unique experience for us, we met a straw hat weaver that lives in the neighborhood, Mrs. Olga, she taught us the technique to weave a hat, we did get anywhere lol such an amazing art. We ended up buying a hat each, what a lovely memory.

i loved the food during the dinner the only suggestion is the breakfast it could be better after we tried the delicious dinner
